Ive heard it pretty much like this. Chevron with techron the best. Next would be sunoco for the top position. Maybe better at certain things , they also offer 110 octane gas at some of them.
But chevron with techron has good detergents / cleaners in there gas and its high grade.
Then amoco , its clean system 3 or whatever is a very clear gas. Trust me I sprayed myself with it before. Was pretty wild.
Couldnt really see it. Very light feeling , soaked right up into my white shirt and you couldnt tell. Normally gas is yellowish , this was clear.
But ive heard reports they are good.
Bp / Hess , pretty good , nothing to jump out a window for.
Then exxon , just bought out mobil. Not sure what to tell yah but im sure its still mobil gas. Mobil gas is alright. Ive never been like oh yeah mobil gas in the car....never felt anything from it...but nothing nasty. Im thining they might have even changed up there gas after they got bought out. They changed there oil formula right around then.
Then I think the rest isnt so hot. Not so sure about shell , I think they are going in and buying out TEXACO....which I forgot to add.

I used to use chevron cause it was the cheapest, but now I use philips66, Premium is $2.14 a gallon, I can get it for $2.09 at chevron or mobile in chandler, but the 50 cents I would save is not worth the 20 min drive to get to those stations.

I get Mobil only.
I used to be a die hard Hess customer...Until their gas froze in my lines this winter, so I'm done with them.

I use Hess.
i never put anything lower that 93 in any of my vehicles and my gf's car too. No engine deserves to have cheapo gas.
We should have octane start at 93 and go up, no more 87 crappy octane gas here.

I get shell 93 only...BP.Amoco puts a crapload of detergent/alcohol in their premium now....damn, for every 10 gallons you buy, you probably get a gal on alcohol from them

Usually get BP Ultimate (98RON) as I am always near BP. On the rare occasion, I will get Shell Optimax (98RON again) or Mobil Synergy 8000 (98RON also).

Date Line did a report a few years back of all the national chians and Shell came out on top for quailty gas.
Ever since i've been using them and Sunoco. BP has additives that i don't really care for and just doesn't run as well as those other two in my car.
I avoid BP and smaller gas stations really

I've always prefered Shell and BP, but they all "feed"
off of something like three main distributor hubs, so
it's all the same gas; addititives are the only difference,
supposedly, but my cars seem to like those two the best;
or Chevron, sometimes .
