Sunoco I believe. Yeah they have the high octane gas. Our race track has a lane called..the sunoco lane. Guess its sponsored by them.

I put 93 octane Texaco or Shell on both my cars but occasionally I put mid-grade on the wife's car when it's too expensive (highest I've seen lately is $2.37/gal), but when the going gets though just raise the octane yourself: http://www.vtr.org/maintain/gasoline-octane.html :evil

Does shell have new gas. Cause this one just went up by me and it has V-Power flags all over the place on it.
I might have to try this.

Yeah that's shell's new premium gas "v-power", I put some of it when I was in Orlando last week, didn't notice anything different.

haha your gf's dad is funny, sulfur is a natural by-product of refined oil, I'm an environmentalist for the military...he was probably playing a joke on you.

sulfur is an explosive element.... sulfur will cause you to fail emissions tests and run through not only new catalytic converters, but fuel pumps and filters as well. It's highly unstable. It's part of their "additive" that helps burn off carbons because it gets so hot (something laong those lines.)
No offense, but I would trust the man who is Sr. shell enviromentalist throughout the country who actually works for the company, to an enviromentalist for the military.

I can see where you're coming from but be informed about a couple of things: Sulfur is not an explosive element, as a matter of fact the flash point is over 400 degrees farenheit, hardly an explosive. Sulfur can be corrosive to metal yes, but that's why it is removed from crude oil in the refining process. Sulfur highly unstable? I don't know where you got that information but actually it is quite the opposite, sulfur is a stable element as a matter of fact the only harm that it can do to you is if you inhale the smoke given off when it is burned (SO2 or sulfur dioxide) and the possible symptoms are irritation of the mucous membranes and skin and it's not even a carcinogen. Also sulfur is used to make a variety of things from rubber to sulfuric acid which requires great amounts of sulfur.
No offense but the point is you're giving misleading information, maybe you misunderstood what your GF's dad meant? Sulfur is not an "additive" in any gasoline because it damages indicators such as the gas gauge, gas companies know that, as a matter of fact here in florida there have recently been a number of lawsuits against shell from people whose gas gauge stop working from sulfur in the gas, shell is now making reparations to those people but those are isolated incidents. Shell, or any other gasoline, does not normally come with sulfur in it.

Here is a link to an audio news report (from "All Things Considered", Wednesday, june 09, 2004):
Suit targets Shell gas over sulfur contamination
...Seems like the 'contamination' as it is referred to has happened on other states as well and its not limited to shell gas :eek
