Wow. Must be nice to have engines that run great on 87 octane and still blow the extra money on 93.

I'm running a JDM H22A in my 5th Gen. with an ECU set to take 103 octane. I use only Amoco, simply because thats what a lot of people in the know suggest but also because they were the first company to make un-leaded fuel and always have been on the more advanced side of gasoline refinement and quality. I say Amoco/BP 93 octane because if it weren't good my engine would simply not be so happy. I have found shell to be an alright alternative but would rather go with Cheveron, maybe i just like the color blue

it's not the ecu tune that changes what your engine requires, but how much pressure (compression) is actually in the combustion chamber when it's running.

So whats the verdict on shell Vpower? I've used shell 91 V-power since i got my 5th gen lude.. im not sure what "the extra kick" exactly feels like...I've heard that Shell V-power had additives that act as fuel injector cleaner..is this true? If thats true that Chevron's techron do? I ASSUMED its the same..I want to try different companies of gasoline becuase im getting like 200 miles to the tank..

Oh yea, off topic now but you guys were talking about gas prices earlier. Gas in late december for premium was like 1.99 I was like yay! and now premium gas ive seen is atleast 2.60 and 2.75 at some stations like citgo..

sunaco carries 93 premium and sunoco is a lot cheaper then other places. Sunaco is bomb, its inexpensive but the gas seems like better quality and you get a better experience then other places like Hess and those really cheap gas places.

i dont know about the other states but here around the
metro detroit area we have a small chain called "firebird",
they are cheaper than the big guys but i tell you what, the
gas is beyond shitty. the first time i filled up my car was on
instant-run like shit mode. i tried with another vehicle just to
see if it was the car or the gas, it was definately the gas
