type-r What's the deal with DTEC?

I was reading my monthly mag when i saw an advertisment about DTEC. it stands for Data Transfer Engine Console. it says "Turns your NINTENDO GAME BOY into a performance tool for vehicle TUNING, DATA LOGGING and DIAGNOSTICS."

so does anyone have one or know anything about it?
is it fake or real or what?

If you own a TurboXS UTEC Engine Management System, the DTEC will allow you to leave your laptop at home and use your GBA for real-time fuel, boost, and ignition timing tuning. Please note that this feature will not be immediately available to DTEC users but will require a free future software upgrade available late 2004.
From their website. I think they are implying that it only works with their fuel managment systems, which they make for WRX's and Lan Evo's.
