hey,
this sounds stupid, but BESIDES the obvious..what is the diff/ between a DC Sports 4-2-1 2 pc header and a DC Sports 4-2-1 1 pc header? I know the actualy pieces diff/ so dont be a smartass..but why shoudl i get one over the other if BOTH are for my car?

Back a while, Sport Compact Car did an exhaust manifold test for the B18C1 engine (January 1999), & tested both the 4-2-1 1-piece & 4-2-1 2-piece manifolds. At the time of the test, DC was said to be phasing out the 2 piece manifold. But, by the time they'd finished testing, they decided to produce both versions.

The test result was, that the 2-piece manifold produced more power & torque than the 1-piece. The results:

DC Sports 4-2-1 1-piece manifold
Power: 153HP
Torque: 120lb-ft

DC Sports 4-2-1 2-piece manifold
Power: 155HP
Torque: 121lb-ft

Does that help?

are those avg numbers? cuz +/-2hp/tq is within dyno error. hell, a 2hp difference will show up just by running the car warm vs cold.

That's a negligible difference, another test on another day, or hell even another example of each header could give different results. I believe SCC even said there was no reason for the numbers to be different and it could be error.

No wait...get the 2-piece it makes way more power.

check out the part review forum for people's thoughts on the dc header on quality

for some people, they get a good set, for some they hate it and it cracks. for my stock motor setup, it was cool and worked fine...but on my custom setup after my motorswap, i had some stress cracks i'd recommend going stainless then putting some header wrap around it

No idea.

They said the car was sitting around for a few days when they ended up testing the 1-piece. They said, "...the results of the one-piece are somewhat questionable..."
