What model is your civic? was it like that before you put the plugs in? and what plugs did you put in by the way?

I put the NGK'S in and gapped them to what they said.I just picked the car up for $800.It had front end damage.I just put a whole new front end on this thing. It sounds like the fuel or spark cuts out at around 5000rpm in every gear. The motor runs cherry untill that happens.I dont know what else to check.Sounds like something electrical.

Its a 2000 civic ex 1.6l VTEC
Bosch 02 sensor located in front of cat(thats the only one it has)
Just changed oil(so thats good)
changed plugs(ngk plat)
its getting a 02 sensor code still.
Will that problem make the car bog down at 5k?
I heard some people mention I could be a dizzy??????
Dealer told me to check the EGR(doesn't sound right)
Up for trying anything to get this damn thing to work.

for one thing, all 96-00 civics have 2 o2 sensors. there's a different code for the primary and secondary.

let us know the code and we'll go from there.

does it bog down or sound like its hitting a rev limiter of sorts? I disconnected vtec pressure siliniod to see if vtec was engaging and it wouldn't go past 4800rpms when vtec was supposed to engage so it might have something to do with that. the 2nd O2 sensor will not effect driving at all it is only there to ensure the cat is working properly the 1st o2 sensor sends all the readings to the ecu to control a/f ratio when warm.

If its sounding like its hitting rev limiter there is a chance something with vtec is messed up.

i put a jdm h22 in my buddies prelude and we drove it without vtec wired up and it would hit rev limiter and fall on its face around 5000 rpms.

If its just bogging then im not to sure what to tell ya. maybe a fuel filter or something.
