93 vx Hatch No start in 2 years $300

Well ima buy a 93 whte vx hatch on saturday for $300. Owner claims motor is not blown but hasnt been started in about 2 years i can get tha flow for a replacement but.....
If its not blown how should I go about tryin to see if it can start?...oil change spark plugs..etc anything other then that because if it can run i will use that until i get a lil more flow to get a full mini me swap.

That is a crazy good deal, wish I could get it. My VX got stolen and totalled years ago, I miss it!
Anyways the battery is probably dead, so jump start it, get a new one, or charge it up.
Oil change is mandatory, and I would at least examine the plugs but they could be alright. But get an oil can and put a few drops down in the cylinder along the walls to get some lube on the rings before you start it up.
Gas might not be any good after 2 years either, if tank is low put a few gallons of new gas in there.

Then see what happens. Now about the mini-me, do not do that on a VX. You will not make any power, as you will have extremely low compression. Furthermore, the gearing is ridiculously long in the VX trans and will not be any fun at all. Just do a complete Z6 or Y8 swap, complete block and tranny. Get a P28 ecu and change the O2 sensor plug to a 4-wire (currently it is 5-wire). That should be it.
