if your going to turbo in the future, vtec doesn't make a difference. but why not go dohc vtec? is it a money issue? you would like the results of a dohc vtec motor for sure, and make better power. and how is your motor fucked up?

pointless question. displacement needs to be stated. are you gonna buld the motor etc. we can't answer this question. it's a random pointless one. what engines are you considering, what mods in the future? etc.

Start with the budget you have to work with first.

If your pockets are low then get a b18b or b20, this way you'll have a good neutral start for turbo, superchagering and/or all motor when you get the money. just my thought

well....one day i was by my school going suuuuper slow and it just started sounding real bad outta nowhere like if the timing belt had slipped out....so i looked under the car and the crank pulley was like shaking....so i took it home to check it out....and my water pump, crank shaft, and my crank pulley was fucked up....when i pulled out the crank pulley, it was stripped from the inside....which means i would have to replace the whole crank shaft(dropping the motor)....so instead of just fixing it since i have to drop the motor anyways, i was just gonna get a whole new motor....besides that, the car was fine....it had NEVER given me any problems....

no it's the crv motor. you really need to do alot of research. all of your questions have been answer before. just use google/wikipedia/search function before you ask anything else. or put on a flame suit

i did do my research....and my results show that his motor (2.0L DOHC PGM-FI 135 hp B20A5)....is the motor for a third gen prelude not a c-rv....so, what i want to know is if it will fit in my civic cuz he's ready to give it to me for $500....is that a good price....the motor is really good with no problems whatsoever(trust me i know)....and if u know, what exactly will i have to change in my civic(96 ex coupe) to be able to swap it?....ex. as in the ecu, and motor mounts and all that stuff....thanks....

I dont think that motor will fit.. it's the honda slant motor. it was slanted back (or forward cant remember) to let the hood line lower.. I mean you "could" make it fit... hell you could make any motor fit, but I dont think it'll be plug and play. just cut your floor out and put a RWD ls1 v8 package in it..
EDIT: You sure you cant fix the end of the crank?? Try taking it to a machine shop and have them look at it..
