Boosted d16z6 or engine swap??
I am looking to mod my D16Z6 or possible engine swap. My D16 has a full exhaust and a aem short ram cai. Its in a 94 civic ex. What would be some more good bolt ons before I boost it or would I just be beter off doing a engine swap. The car is my everyday driver so I need it to be reliable. I will do a little racing with it but just mainly want it to be fast for fun. If engine swap would be better what engine should I look into?

You need to research.
Putting bolt-ons your D-series then boosting it would be completly pointless and a waste of your money. All the bolt ons you just put on would have to go if you boost it.
As far as boosting or engine swap, it's completly up to you. What kind of money are you wanting to spend. Boosting...there is a lot to it. It's not just putting a little turbo on it and saying...Hey, I'm turbo'd.
I'm sorry if I'm coming off mean, but this question has been asked to no prevail the last couple of months. You need to run a search, and research more.

that is such a vague quesion. research before you post. just because it has a turbo doesn't mean it's fast. what year lude are you talking about btw. you need to do alot more research and stop asking pointlessly vague questions.

its a 92 lude. I'm pretty much set on turboing the d16. I have been trying to do some research but I don't know alot of places to go look at stuff. Would the t3/t4 turbo with .60 a/r turbine and .48 a/r compressor be a good choice or would it be to big. I read where a guy had a .62 and it would fall out of boost everytime he shifted and it wasn't a very usable powerband. I'm new to all this and this is what the turbo I have been looking is but don't want to buy it and regret it. Also does anyone know a good tuner around memphis, TN

Mileage has nothing to do with it. You could have an engine with 190k on it that is healthier than an engine with 1,000 on it.
Engine swap being less of a headache than a turbo?
Hmm...Do you know this from experience, because I beg to differ.

it was just my opinion. and yes you COULD have a 190 k engine thats healtier than a 1 k engine but i was just trying to give my input.

You STILL need to research. It deppends what you want. A .60 is a big turbo, it will have a lot of lag, but once it pics up it will put down NASTY power.
If you're wanting to auto-X pick a turbo that is little smaller so it will spool quicker, and you'll have the power right then.
Get where it's goin?

The only kind of racing I will be doing is drag racing. I just read about another guy that had a .62 and the was saying it made trerrible times at the track and by the time it spooled he was having to shift. Do you think the .60 would be the same way?
