its actually a smooth car to drive, it has a bit of understeer but given that its a sedan, its not to bad. Quit being a dick Mr. Business man, Im tired of you. Just deal with the fact that you have some slight feelings of jealousy and move on to a more productive conversation.
side note: had the head been non-Vtec, I wouldnt be making 200hp. its the only reason the build was worth the time spent. every time I scream by a hatch or REX with a GSR or LS swap, it makes all the time and money totally worth it. if you'll excuse me, I have to start tearing down a D15b7 now, this one is going to have some boost. Im hoping to break 500 ponies on 101 octane at 19psi with a t3/t4 hybrid snail, but I think thats a bit of a stretch...we shall soon see.........

umm the vtec-e system on there isn't for hp. therefore wouldn't be the limiting factor for n/a hp on that motor. why wouldn't it make 200hp with the non-vtec head. aren't they pretty much the same?it's not like the b-series where the head flows significantly more cfm than the non-vtec head. the limiting factor for power isn't vtec. if you up the compratio throw a cam at it and tune it wouldn't you techinically make the same power?

alright, I had a non-vtec head with the exact same grind on the cam that I have now, same comp. ratio, same internals, same port and polish. ( both heads ported by on my flowbench) now, without vtec, i was pulling numbers just shy of 200. I put the vtec head, and it flattens out at 3 grand, right after 3 it pulls and hits over 200 at just under 9000.
it'll handle 9000 but i set the limiter at 8350 so it doesnt get the chance to grenade. plus it flattens out almost completely at 8700. Keep in mind this is on 101 octane, motor runs happy on 101, and I dont want to throw away the race fuel for our truck (even though Im sure it would make for some impressive numbers on the 118 oct.)
either way, despite everyones shrewd comments I'm content with what shes producing and now I'm in the middle of a turbo D. just dusted off my tig welder today, i need some practice its been a while since I've used the dang thing.. can i tig anyones mouth shut?

i would expect the vtec motor to do that since that is what vtec is primarily their to do, flatten tq and power. but can the 5 hp difference you probably saw be are result of the dyno since they aren't 100% accurate? you can run the same motor in identical conditions on two seperate days and the dyno can read up to like an 8 hp difference between the two. so unless you dynoed the non-vtec vs the vtec setup on the same day, same build, same condtions at the same time, you couldn't really make that type of assumption that they won't make the same power. a dyno is afterall just a benchmark for tuning hence why their results will vary even on the same setup

i didnt do one pass, i did 3 separate passes on the non vtec, had a 1 hp difference between the 1st and 2nd, on the third pass there was the same as the first. I ran 5 on the vtec head and the biggest difference was a jump of 2hp between the 3rd and 4th run. the 5th was identicle to the first. now you may be correct as far as the head having a slightly different flow pattern on the floor of the runner, but as far as size goes they are identicle.

Seriously, guys? Are you fucking for real here? You've been flinging the same shit back and forth this whole time. As in, he flings it at you, you pick it back up and fling it back at him.
I am completely disappointed in all of you.
