burning oil issues
I recently had a friend tell me I was smoking at high rpms when I was passing on the highway. I checked it later and sure enough, as soon as I hit about 6200, a cloud of blue smoke would come from the exhaust. I also changed the oil right after that and noticed it was crazy low. From my research, the main possible causes of this are bad piston rings, bad valve seals, or maybe something with the pcv system. This is on a 92 civic with a z6 mini-me about 160,000 on the block and about 100,000 on the head. I'm not losing any power at all, just smoking when running it hard. I really don't want to have to rebuild or swap because I was just about to do a 14b turbo setup on this car. The motor passed a compression test with flying colors, but it hasn't had a leakdown done. Is there any way I can determine whether it is piston rings or valve seals? Is there anything I can do to stop this smoking without a rebuild?
thanks
