ok the block (d15b7) and head (d16y8) are all bolted up but my question is since the block is obd1 can i still use my old ECU (with no place for the crank position sensor or the knock sensor on new setup) or will i need an obd1 ecu...PLEASE HELP ASAP THANKS

u will need a p28 ecu to do the swap correctly i hope you also pulled the tab out of the block to let oil flow for the vtec setup it should be on the block right up from the distributor where vtec hooks up

wrong you can use an obd2 ecu to run an obd1 block i'm doing it now. you do not need to use the p28 just to use your setup. trace down the wires for the cps and the one for the dizzy and jump the wires. as long as the ecu reads that the crank and dizzy sensors are in sync then it will run fine. and I wouldn't even worry about the knock sensor I've been running my engine for quite a while without one

found it the search function works great. did a search for cps and distributor and looked until I found a few I posted in. so heres the site .:FFS TechNet : CKF Bypass Trick :.
I promise if you do this correctly it will run fine I have been running my engine with this for about 6 or 7 months with no problems. also read the thread above as I added some other info, that might be useful, that I found out when swapping my motor in
