Smile completely stock 1996 hatch, first upgrades

I have a 96 hatch with approx. 200xxx miles on it. Instead of selling it I want to upgrade the engine and suspension. I need moderate performance increases without sacrificing fuel economy (too much). I have decided on a D15B V-Tech, I can purchase the engine locally and have it installed for a reasonable price.

To increase fuel economy and performance the engine dealer suggested I also get a cold air intake. What intakes are a good value? I am confident that I will satisfied with the engine upgrade alone, so I don't need peak performance parts.

I also will need to upgrade the suspension. The stock suspension is a bit boaty so I need shocks or coilovers, I am not sure which. Nothing too stiff I am sure. Any Suggestions?

1. V-tech makes phones, its vtec*
2. There is a search button, use it.
3. almost any civic will like intake headers and exhaust.

Intake: AEM short ram, (preferred over cold air intake no hydrolock ^^)
Headers: DC Ceramic
Exhaust: Greddy or skunk2

Thatll give you some nice all around boost in rpm response and should at least leave ur mpg alone if not raise it a tiny bit with the header.

Suspension: Tokico and/or eibach.
