Zex makes a good cam for the Y7/Y8 (zex 59300, works well for turbo)
Check ebay for Crower valves/springs/retainers for a Y7

Not aware of anyone that produces a cam for the y7. The only things offerred are regrinds. You can get that done at www.deltacam.com or www.bisimoto.com . As for valvesprings/retainers, they are all interchangeable for d16s.

VTEC cams do not work in non-VTEC heads...as stated though regrinds are available from Delta, also Gude and Web.

Any bottom end components for a Y8 will fit a Y7 (pistons, rods, etc) and as stated also the valvetrain components for Y8 fit Y7 too (springs, valves, retainers).

However as a few of us state in every thread like yours that pops up, if you want to keep the Y7 the first thing you should do is at least swap in a Y8 transmission. Especially for all-motor builds. Also you might want to pick up a spare head to port and build up, these Y heads need some grinding out to flow well up top with n/a builds. You are definitely choosing the most underdog of builds but it can yeild results.

Former member infinatenexus had a DX coupe all-motor with Delta cam and other stuff, d-i-y port job and he ran in the mid 14's. Builthatch had a more radical Y7 build and ran nitrous and hit mid/low 13's.

Hm. I was mis-informed then. Shit looks like I have to find a way to get a better cam while keeping the Y7 head

See the above posts...many have had success with a Delta 272 grind if going all-motor. If going turbo just keep the stocker or get a custom grind with a near-stock duration/overlap but more lift.
