tech wrench Critical engine starting up problem

yea i just did a 96-up ex tranny on my 92 civic hatch and it was running for a sec and it sound like the gears are not going in the car starts up and gears goes in but when releasing it....the car does go anywhere now i switch the tranny out again to double check and this time the car wouldn't star it would only cranks...but the engine would run....i really need some help......you guys now what wrong or what could be wrong......(wires are double checked)

You're going to have to retype that dude. Its not very clear

So you put in a 96 tranny, and then your clutch wasn't engaging?
Then you put your old tranny back in and the car won't start at all? But the engine ran anyways? Thats where you lost me.

Take a breath and explain it in a detailed coherent way.

kk...i lost myself too...kk...after installing the 96 ex tranny the car started up and ran for a little bit and then it seemed as if the gears weren't going in so i took off the ex tranny and stuck it back in again ....after that it just won't start...but it cranks, (like its wants to start but won't).....the fuels are working...timing had just been positioned) but still no start up or run....

Check for a spark. Its probably going to be something obvious you forgot. You took the distribtor off?

onelowciv is an unknown quantity at this point
Zinc is right, if you already know your getting fuel, then check your spark and back track from there. sounds like sumthing easy, just overlooked
