d15b7 to d16? is it possible

Im building up my d15b7 and have plans to turbo it. i realize the rods are weak and its hard to find a stronger set at a decent price. does anyone have any ideas on what rods i can put in? anything will help! also is it possible to put a d16 crank and d16 rods and pistons in a d15b7 thus giving you a longer stroke and basically a d16?! If you can't then why? and what the difference between the two blocks. Im desperate for help and any input would be much appreciated!!!

There is no cheap rods. If you do use them the motor will be a ticking time bomb.

Simplest/Best solution here would be to get a d16z6 block.

The tuner toyz pieces are your only bet on a budget. I just checked thier website and it appears to not be working. So I dunno if they are in bussiness anymore. But they had D series rods for about $225. Another cheapo approach is to use a LS rod rebushed on the piston end for the d series piston. Crower sells the bushings. You can do that (assuming you have the LS B18a/b rods(PR4) for about $100. Good for another 50-75hp over a stock set of d rods and more revs. Vtec blocks/internals are WAY better - if your gonna go through the hassle of building one start there. Even if you don't use a vtec head the bottom end will take more abuse.

He has a d15. The only aftermarket rod is the crower which is about $600. He would be better off getting a d16 bottom w/d16 rods.
