d15b8, burning oil?

How can i come to a conclusion on whats making oil burn on my d15b8,

valve stem seals? Piston rings?

if i do a compression test, that will tell if its the rings correct?

and a leakdown could tell me if its the valve stem seals??

If i do the compression test, its more important for the numbers to be closer together correct? and if the compression test turns out fine, that would mean its more than likely the valve stem seals?

If you do a compression test and it passes, it is most likely the valve seals.

If the compression test fails, it could be the rings OR the valves. The old fashioned way to check is to pour a couple mils of oil into the spark plug hole and recheck. If you regained compression then, yes it was the rings. If it is still the same, your rings are fine and your valves or valve seats are gone.
