D16A1 Rod Vs. D16Z6 Rod

Ok, so I was building up my D16Z6 motor for my daily driver, which will have a mild turbo setup on it in the near future when I was pondering the use of aftermarket rods. However I came accross these PG6 rods from a D16A1 Integra motor and they looked pretty beefy compared to the stock D16Z6 rods. Not all D16A1s had these bigger rods, because the last few ive taken apart had the regular z6 rods.

The only identifying marks on them were that the D16Z6 rod has a 6 with an underscore under it while the D16A1 rod has PG6 on it.

D16Z6 rod is on the left PG6 rod is on the right.

D16Z6 rod is on top notice how it tapers when it gets close to the small end

Although it is hard to tell in these pics, the D16A1 PG6 rod is thicker than the Z6 rod in every aspect, It has bigger shoulders at the big end, and more matierial at the small end connecting point. Ill try to get my caliper out and post up some measurements.

The d16a1 rods are physically bigger, but more brittle, so they are not any stronger than the regular d16 rods.
