Oh I see what you are asking....yes with the y8 IM, you'll need an intake system designed to fix on a y8 engine even if your 'engine' is not a y8.

But does the CAI for the ex go thorugh the sheet metal in front of the wheel or does it go around and uder right near the radiator. the dx CAI goes near the radiator.

if the ex goes through the metal you would just have to cut a hole and line it with rubber.

Excellent point. An ex cai goes through the hole in front of the wheel where the OEM resonator tubing goes through. On a DX shell, that hole is not there.

Two options:

1) as 98 said, you can get the EX CAI and cut the hole and put a rubber lining or file it very smoothly.
2) buy a DX CAI to avoid the hole issue, but custom fabricate the piping to attach to the IM where the EX one would attach (basically chopping it up).

option two is what I did. btw. but i just left it as a sri as of recently
