D16Y8 ECu on D16Z6

hi ppl , im planning a D16Z6 swap into my EK obd2a chassis , but i have a problem , my OBD1 Ecu is dead , and i have a Y8 one...can you tell me if Z6 runs with a OBD2a ECu from the Y8?? im using all the original engine harness from my Y8 with the adjustments to fit in Z6.. and if i can use it , i save some money not buying a OBd1 and convertion harness also.....thx ppl

As if it wasn't apparent from his post that he already knew that.

Yes you can make it work, if you make the mentioned adjustments to plug the OBD2 harness in and one more thing...need to do the CKF sensor trick or it will run crappy. You may get codes from the secondary O2 sensor but that depends on what exhaust manifold setup you run and what exact chassis this is going into. "EK" doesn't say anything. It's actually an EJ but nonetheless the important thing is what engine/harness came stock in the car? In the end though the car will still run pretty well if your only code is for secondary O2 sensor.

Here is what to do with the crank sensor:
.:FFS TechNet : CKF Bypass Trick :.

Also the IAT is different, you may have to use the OBD2 one in the intake arm and just leave the Z6 one on the manifold unhooked. No biggie.
