D16Y8 into EG auto, please help.

Ok so I have a 92 lx auto. The motor is junk but the tranny is fine. I don't feel like swapping to manual, i prefer sticks but don't want to deal with it. I'm picking up a d16y8 from a 97 ex that comes with everything but the tranny (it was also an auto). It includes ECU, full harness, axles, etc. I'm looking to do this as cheap as possible. Which option is better in terms of ease and price. All the labor will be done by me and my brother. I'm pretty good mechanically and he is better, but I just don't know about the OBD issues.

1. Keep the car obd1 and swap over all the sensors, harness, dizzy, intake manifold (do i need to do this?) over to the Y8 and then add the wires for vtec. I'm assuming this options requires that I find a P28 Auto ECU, is that right?

2. Keeping only my tranny, use everything from the Y8 including the ECU and convert the car to obd2. This sounds easier to me, but I really don't know what's required. Is it doable?

3. Any combination of 1&2 or something else with this set up that I'm not thinking of.

Thanks,
Sean

keep the car obd1.

why did you buy an obd2 engine? give it back and get an obd1 if you want the cheapest simplest way. D16Z6 would go right in with its' own engine harness.
