Question D16y8 MAP sensor ?

I've decided to boost my D16y8 and have looked into a lot of info. The one question I have is about the MAP sensor. Do I have to change the stock one to a 3 bar sensor for low boost or wait for full boost(8-9 psi), or will I not have to change it at all? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

The stock sensor is good to 11 psi. However - anything above atmospheric ( ZERO BOOST) it will trigger a check light and throw the car into limp mode. They sell one way check valves called 'missing links' to keep the boost from getting to the map sensor but allow the sensor to see vaccuum. They are cheap - work well and on a budget are your only option. You don't need to change your map sensor unless you want more boost and are tuning using the map. (hondata) Hope this helps.

Thanks. I'm only gonna run 7-8 psi on a stock motor till I build another one for boost. I wanna get it tuned after the stock motor is boosted, will that "missing link" valve be ok for a base tune or will I have to do a street tune with crome or something like that? Havent looked too much into tuning yet.

3 bar?!!??!! That is almost 3 times atmospheric (1 atm = 1.0133 bar) which means ~30psi (3*14.7 - 14.7 for gauge pressure which 'boost' pressure is).....why would you ever need a MAP sensor that goes that high?
