Just curious to what others think. I have a 5spd D15B7 with intake, header, exhaust, wires, timing adjustment. It is getting faster but would like to get into a little more than just bolt ons.

If you're wanting to get more out of your current setup then you could have it tuned. But personally I would go turbo and tune and ditch the N/A. But that is my personal opinion.

whats the purpose of getting beyond bolt ons?
bragging rights?

racing.??

if its for other than bragging rights on what you have done to your car.

NO OFFENSE but just learn how to drive your car...

i had a 93 civic hatchback dx..

swapped in a d16z6.
because of money i never got a p28 pcm.
so therefore i never had vtec wired up.

and running with my stock d15 5spd trans.

all i had done was a short ram intake, skunk2 cat back exhaust, and was lowered..

the car was quick enough to beat hatchbacks with ls motors.
and crx's with b16s.

then it got stolen .. i later found out that the theives thought i had to have something more than a z6 under the hood..

but learn to drive it.

if thats not good enough.
work on the trans. get a lighter flywheel and a better clutch.

pnp the head.. lighten the car up...
go boost.

or go n/a and do some head work...

well I love the car the way it is. I was just wondering if the tranny swap would make a difference.

Well the EX/Si tranny will offer better acceleration. My last D15B7 had 300,000 and was still running strong. Got to love those little motors.

they are damn impressive. The only problem i had with mine was the rings which were bad when i got it. Someone told me it was caused by not allowing the engine to come up to temp before shutting it down. I guess she drove it like a mile at a time. but since the swap and timing it runs good for a 1.5 sohc

the trans will make a noticeable difference.
it will be much more fun to drive.

do it. and if you plan on staying with the underdog D.
