Mods: I've swapped out my D15b7 and put in a D16z6 with standard I/H/E upgrades. Now I'm working on a B16/B18C1 upgrade. I have the head and am "shopping" for the rest. Send me a message if you'd like at Luis998@sprint.blackberry.net and let me know of any B16 parts you may have available i.e. turbo cams, gears, valve-train, low comp components...etc.

Bought or installed one, no. Researched to see what others have gone through with them, yes. From what I have seen, a lot of people would prefer to buy just the turbo from eBay, than the entire kit. Why? Because some of the parts that come with the kit do not seem to hold up and seem to skimp out on quality. That and the fact that piecing together your own kit is more cost effective and will lead you towards what you are specifically looking for. This is only from what I read and an opinion, not to be taken too literally without having done your own research. I wish you the best my friend.

Thanks, I really appreciate that. I really don't know much about honda's. What would you think is better price/performance, turbo or cam and porting?

It depends on a few things. First, what are your goals with your build? Do you want to go all motor or are you definitely set on boost? If boost is your route, you could buy a kit or piece one together, and safely boost your engine to 7psi on stock components. I'm personally taking my time building my engines so that they will be able to handle quite the load whenever I finish and boost them. There's more piece of mind there. If you have the patience like I do, build your engine up first. If you just want power right now, go with a turbo.

Let me ask, do you have a set budget for your build?

Figure out whether you definitely want to go the boost or all motor route and THEN you can start talking about port and polishing your head. The reason for this is, one set up will work for one and the other for...well, you get the idea.
