ok i need some one to tell me if a D15y7 head will fit in my D15b7 block i need to know asap . I muffed up my original head and i need a replacment,before my buddy who has the y7 head moves away till next year

im not extremely knowledgeable with d series but they made a d157y??
i thought all the 96-up d series were 1.6L

he takes off to ireland so ya hes selling parts off his old civ and i chequed the egine model plate thing next to the tranny and thats what itsaid

im pretty sure its interchangeable, i mean all d series parts are interchangeable. plus how much is he asking for the head??

no i dont think so
well obviously d15 is displacement. and the las 2 i beleive it might just differentiate betwee vtec and non vtec??
but how much is he selling head for

i have a d15b7 and it's non-vtec.. but if that's the difference between b7 and y7 then yea the head's the right size but you'd have to rotate the head 180 degrees to get it to fit right.. and i read that there was another modification you had to make but it was easy.. can't remember what it said tho.



engine on the left is my d15b7 non-vtec (dirty i know )
engine on the right is a d15 vtec.
i think i'm retarded tho cuz i think i might be getting the head confused with just the valve cover.. i'm a noob, don't listen to me haha

from the looks of the pics.
it looks exactly like that.
well my d15b7 compared to my z6 the plug wires are closer to the intake manifold on the b7.
and on the z6 the plugs are closer to the exhaust manifold.
so if you do a mini me on a b7 with a z6 head it would work obviously
but how much is he selling the head to you for?

the letter has nothing to do weather it is vtec or not. hense the D16y8 being vtec and the d16y7 not being vtec. the number denotes whether or not it is vtec and the letter labels the block. So briefly telling the difference is letter = block, number = head.
