my friend blew up his d16y8 in something like a 1999 civic EX he was given a d16z6 for free so we pulled the y8 and started to strip it but we noticed a few sensors, etc that the z6 does not have can someone fill me in on all the diffrences and whats needed to make this work?

no knock sensor and a few other little things.

the only main difference is the distributor plug, injectors and the alternator.

you want to just swap the y8 alternator and injectors over to the z6 block.

for the distributor www.rywire.com and pick up an obd2-obd1 distributor adapter.

everything else will plug right in.

What blew in the Y8? Yes you could swap over the internals.
