well if you go stage 1 cam(worthless imo) you can keep stock stuff but it wont make good power.

stage 2 and 3 will both need springs and retainers and a full ECU tune.

www.crower.com makes some of the best VTEC cams for the sohc.

stage # is very extreme but it is an awesome cam and with a good tune will idle at 900 and make GREAT power throught the powerband.

sorry man but it is you need practice launching and you should see a 2.3 60ft or better man on street tires is pretty easy.

with that 60ft you will see 14's EASY.

also the stage 3 isnt horendous for street use I will be using one in my daily driver muuuahahahhaha. lol

you can get most higher stage cams and not have to upgrade retainers and springs as long as you dont exede your stock redilne

IDK it depends on milage. there is ALOT of force put on the stock valvetrain.... I would not reuse something thats over 50k old....

plus the ramp rates rutation and lift is MUCH higher on an aftermarket car.... this puts alot more stress on the valvetrain.

IMO stage 2 you may get away with stock stuff for a little while..

stage 3 you MUST upgrade valvetrain
