The question is why you would try hooking one up in an HX? What benefit do you hope to get?

i have a turbo that i want to put on it and will need to be able to adjust the fuel. it would be tuned on a dyno. i could swap everything and go to a bigger engine or even a head swap but i think that this is more fun because i havent seen one.

Ah I see. Well I think a turbo on an HX would actually perform quite well if dialed in right, but it will still be a bit tricky doing it. It's not that hard to tune regular VTEC, you just know where the crossover is and tune the fuel for before it kicks in, then tune the section of RPM band in VTEC. But the VTEC-E system is different, it is not solely dependant on RPM to determine the crossover point because there is no change of cam profile. It does only change above a certain RPM but it also senses engine load and throttle position to "intelligently" determine if you really require the VTEC or not. VTEC-E is not a hi-cam/lo-cam switch, it's a 12-valve/16-valve switch.

So what I'm saying is tuning for boosted VTEC-E I guess you could get close but you might end up, depending on how you are driving at any given time, with a rich or lean condition because it kicked in later then expected, or sooner.

If you do try it though, Boomslang makes no-splice add-in harnesses for any car to install the Neo. They are expensive though, like $140...

how neccesary is it to change the vtec-e rpm. i was thinking that with a small turbo i could just do some fuel adjustments. or is a 12:1 fmu decent enough for the 5-6 psi im looking for. i happen to have the afc neo and a fmu. so im looking for the best way to make it run with the proper air fuel ratio.
