Question hx intake manifold?

my question is what is the difference between the d16y5 intake manifold and a d16y8. they make performance ones for the d16y8 but not the d16y5. can i use the y8 on my y5 and if so what mods are needed.

The problem with the d16y5 intake manifold is that it has an egr valve. Remaining obd2 and running a y8 manifold with throw a cel.

He asked what he would have to do to run a y8 intake manifold on his y5.

The only way the y8 would work on a y5 is if you convert to obd 1 with a different ecu that won't be looking for the egr valve. If you stay obd 2 and use a y8 intake manifold on the y5 you will throw a code. I don't think it would work properly with a y8 ecu because the vtec-e mechanism is different then the regular vtec one. I'm pretty sure the y8 is alittle better flowing.
