o2 Simulator.

EDIT: 1998 Civic DX

Hey! I bought an o2 simulator from summit the other day and I was sent the wrong one. I was sent item # 104053 instead of #104054 go figure. Anyway. Does this seem like it would fit? (this is a picture of the correct one) It doesn't look like it to me unless I am looking at the wrong spot to plug it into. The part that I thought the simulator goes into almost looks like a spark plug on the bottom of the cat (closest to the ground) Maybe I'm wrong. What do you guys think.

why wouldnt tyou just get a real o2 sensor? its better, and healthier for your engine. and i could peobably get you one for just as much as you8 paid for that contraption.

The reason for the o2 simulator is because I am running with out a cat. And if I dont have one then I will have a CEL when I install this header.

there should be a hole in the bottom of the chassis with a circular blue rubber thing that the o2 sensor went through to connect to the wiring harness- right over where the cat used to be, closer to where it met the header. that hole can be reached from the inside of your car-behind your center console, you might have to cut away some carpet. then just find where the o2 sensor plugs in, or did plug if it isnt there any more. there should be a matching plug for you to plug the o2 simulator in.

i had an o2 simulator for a while but in the end it wasn't worth and it just cause the CEL to come on. if you plan on running without a cat, i would consider an obd1 conversion, that way you won't need a secondary o2 sensor. but its up to you.

hope this helps

Does running without the cats o2 sensor for a little while affect anything?

No, but other people will tell you otherwise, we had a long debate over this a few months back, let me find the thread and I'll let you read through it and you can decide for yourself

I'm running Header no cat , 3in tubing and a Glasspack . No CEL's so far . I just extend my o2 sensor by adding about few extra inches of wire . It sounds pretty good too. I'm testing out new maganaflow today.

I trust you, ATISTANG. We both have been around here for a while and all your posts are pretty damn good (funny too). So I'll just see what happens when I run with out a o2 on there.

Now, my other question.

Sence my CEL will be on after I do this, will I be able to tell if it throws another code later on for any other problem that comes up?

not with out scanning for more codes, if you have a code scanner just scan it every once in a while or go to autozone like once a month and have them do it, then when they say you have a bad cat tell them you know and you don't care because your bad to the bone, then do a burnout leaving lol
