Rebuilding my D series engine for Boost

Well, I just got a raise and I am making some extra money and want to rebuild my D series engine for about 15 psi of boost. I have a few questions.

Here is what I have planned:

Forged Pistons
Rods
O-ring the cylinder Head
Crankshaft
A stage 3 Turbo Kit (I am a newb to this stuff, so I thought the Kit would be worth my money for no hassle)
Exhaust

Now to the questions:

What are some good brand parts I can count on for each part?

Will replacing these parts in my engine give me more horsepower even without a turbo?

If I get a mechanic to put all the parts in, about what range should I be looking to pay?

Are these parts that generally wear out with mileage? My D16 has 110,000 miles on it, so if this could make it last longer, that would be great.

What is a good brand ECU, and how much does a good tune cost?

Is there someway to get good airflow through the exhaust and not sound ricy?

Sorry if any of these questions are dumb :|, I am new to this stuff. I originally wanted to put an h22a in, but I got a raise at work, and decided to stay with this engine.

If I get a mechanic to put all the parts in, about what range should I be looking to pay? In my opinion if you're wanting to make THIS much power and THIS much work, you should know to to pull, rip apart, build, re-build and install your own engine/parts. If you take it to a mechanic you're looking at thousands of dollars. It costs about $70/hr (at least) for labor, plus parts (if/and he will need to order more parts) and I'm sure he'll take at LEAST a week to do it

Like i said above, you need to do more research, you can just replace some parts here and there and slap a turbo on and say..."All Done". Replace everything (imo) Pistions, rings, rods, valves...ect.

do your self a a favor and look up turbod16.com lots of good info
u can build a d series block for prolly under 1300 tuner toy rods eagle pistons crank u don't have to replace a nice turbo cam for the head unless u buy a newer head for it with less miles like i have a jdm non vtec jdmd15 head with prolly maybe 40 k its obd2 2 now as far as muffler setups ur gonna have to go with at lest 2 1/2 inch piping for the turbo a good twin loop muffler like i did and u stay quite but relatively n/a cars are louder then turbo cars and expect nice amount to put the engine together for u if a shop dose it and ur gonna need engine manegment what state u in what are your laws bigger injectors there come lots to play when u intend to turbo a car lots of hard work and money spent

I will pay one of my mechanic friends to help me out. Hopefully rebuilding the engine will only require a dedicated weekend. Then I will do the turbo the next. This will be a learning experience for me, hopefully afterwards I will understand how to do these operations in the future

I read the sticky, it was very useful.

Thanks for the turbo link as well. That should save me alot of money! If I am going to do this, I might as well learn something while I am at it. Custom sounds just right.
