throttle

my throttle on my 93 civic sticks open and closed. i have a new throttle body and accelerator cable and the problem persists. any ideas on what could be causing this?

Check the Idle Control Valve, because once i had a similar problem and though it was the throttle body and the cable just like you, but it was that the Idle Control Valve went bad and it was keeping the car sometimes on really high RPMs or way to low RPMs. So if you have'nt check that, do it and see if it works.

?? Of course that's the function...but it's not supposed to be STUCK open or closed.

Anyway....have you checked the inside of the TB around the butterfly? Sometimes there's gack there.

after cleaning around the flap inside, still no difference. replaced IAC valve, same thing. adjusted the throttle cable and same thing.
