The problem with those kits is that far too often, idiots purchase them and think they can install them correctly (mind you, I'm not saying that's what you are, this statement does not include you unless you make it include you) and give the kits a bad name. In general, the components the include are "good enough". Don't sweat the hp that you're going to be putting out, focus more on the gobs and gobs of information available on the stickies in the turbo forum. Find out exactly what kind of airflow your turbo is set to, set your wastegate to something low (like 3-5psi for starters) and make sure you have everything on correctly, a few times. Double and triple check everything. What are you using for a boost controller? Do you have an internal or external wastegate? What output does your turbo offer in cfm? Which b16 do you have? What cooling system are you using? How is your airflow to that cooling system? Have you upgraded your fuel delivery system at all (running lean because you're pumping more air into your engine than your fuel system can match is very, very bad)?
