Exclamation 2.25"? turbo exhaust setup

(1998 Honda Civic EX)

Do you guys think if i did 2.25" piping from turbo to muffler that I would be ok since only running 8 PSI? I want to do 2.5" but I really dont want another loud civic . I love the way my car sounds now with just a after market muffler. I mean I wanna hear VTEC and my BOV . Ran 2.5" in my 92 HB with B18C1 and havent herd VTEC since lol it just sounds like all hell breaks lose. And in my exhaust setup im gonna use a magnaflow cat and should I use a resinator? Probably less noise if I do. Possible ideas on how to keep noise to be decent and not have hell break lose? lol thanks.

Well, maybe its the type of muffler you're using. Try to use a quieter muffler. 2.5-3" would be best. A friend of mine Has a Dodge Shadow Turbo with a 3" exhaust turbo back, no cat, no resonator no muffler. Basically a 9 foot long straight pipe. its definently louder then hell. You will all see video's this summer. The car just got finished. He's hoping for high 12's. But anyway. Look into the different mufflers you can use. I suggest a chambered muffler unlike a straight through.

you can get away with 2.25" since you are still on the 1.6 sohc motor and you're not looking for 500+hp.

you could go with a 2.5" and try to get a resonator in before the muffler to quiet it down a bit.

do you still plan on having some type of aftermaket cat or get rid of it?

not trying to steal this thread or anything but i had a similar question. i have a buddy with a boosted ls, has the rev hard turbo kit. t3t4 with a tial wastegate. well he has a greddy exhaust right now does anyone know what size those are? im guessing 2.25. but which exhaust would you guys recommend him? 2.5 straight through or a 2.5 to 3 inch? hes running 6ish lbs right now, not sure what his future goals are with the car, but what would be safe without overdoing it?
