tech wrench 2001 Civic turbocharging

yes.

for a while, i was saying ALL MOTOR ALL MOTOR
i beilive i want to turbo charge my car.

I have a 2001 civic ex coupe 5 speed.
no mods to speak of.

It was suggested that if I am really serious,
buy a turbo manifold, and start piecing together a turbo kit .

my goal is something around 200 horsepower at the wheels.
i'm aware some engine work may need to be done to accomodate boost, and higher rpm's.

any advise on products , single or kits would be appreciated.

i have been looking on kteller.com and also been reading up on the physics and how turbo charging works..

Many people here will suggest to you that you create your own kit. In doing so, you will gain more knowledge about turbochargers in general. Something else that will help is if you get to know your local junkyard. I picked up my turbo off of an old Volvo for $100 in excellent condition and it put my D series at 217whp.

I would also suggest buying a good manifold, which could mean $400-$700 unless you know someone that can make them. Cheap manifolds will either flow unevenly or (SSAutoChrome) they have a history of cracking. Just for the record I have ran an SSAC manifold since I bolted my kit to my car, and it has shown no signs of cracking.

I'm thinking about a kteller d17 kit

I think I am going to save a couple a hundred bux a month and buy / charge a ktelller kit.

they look like they have a good product.

if not. I will at least want a peak boost manifold. it looks nice, and is well machined.
