currently i have an f22b1 motor in my 5th gen accord. my plan is to get an h23 motor with some sort of turbo, and im looking to get about 250hp at the wheels, can this be done easily and is it goin to be very expensive? my other option is to go all motor h22,, but im thinkin the turbo h23 would be faster in my car...am i right?
thnks in advance!

that can be done easliy and inexpensively with the f22. No point in getting a h23. I'm doing a full boost on my f22b2. I can't wait. I will be at 10psi and looking for 260 with fine tuning. If you go with forged pistons and rods in the f22 then you can boost as much as you want and maybe even hit 350 lol.

i just figured that the h23 motor would be more stronger and i can fine tune it better since it has DOHC. my f22 motor is very strong right now, it got me a 15.1 1/4mile with my mods, but id like to hit 13s next spring!
so u are sayin, on the f22, with 10 psi and good tunin, i can get like 250hp at the wheels?

Yes that is exactly what I am saying. I am pretty sure f22 is one the strongest engines out there. Stronger thatn h22 and h23. Also they have a low compression which is great for boost. 95accordlx is running a badass turbo setup on f22. Just ask him. I think he is putting down more than 250hp to the wheels.

now , my next question... who is the best for a turbo for the f series, or even h series? i have very high kms on my f22 thats why i was thinkin of jus swappin it out and puttin in an h23

well if you swap out to h23 you'll have to get new stuff to boost like new forged pistons, rods, cams, and other stuff. Just get a compressions test for your f-series and if it turns out good, then all you have left is to boost. Just don't boost too high unless you get forged pistons. 12PSI I would say is maxin it out on f22.

You'll need larger injectors too. I would recomend tuning it on a dyno, don't mess with guessing your tuning like some do. You may also want a msd btm if your going to run the "hack". If I were you i'd sell the v-afc and go with hondata or uberdata.

where do you get your info from??? why would he have to change to forged pistons, rods, cams, and other stuff to boost his h23? i boosted my stock h23 with 9lbs and ran into no problems what so ever. there was a guy on h-t that boosted his h23 on 6-7lbs and got 250whp out of it.
Im boosting anywhere from 6 to 15 psi. Like i said in my previous posts......dont throw away ur f22, its a strong ass motor. Ive boosted up to 12 on bone stock internals and up to 15 with my forged pistons and even encountered a 19-20 psi spike and the only thing i suffered was a blown HG. I also used the DSM S-AFC setup and it worked fine until u got to 10-12 psi and ur CEL would come on and the car ran like shit. I now run hondata and the car drives like a factory turbo charged car. Im currently on my second setup and am tuned to 15 psi.

so when you replaced your headgasket, did you use just a stock replacement, or what? mine's on its' way out, and i'm planning on turboing it so i want do it right. how difficult is it to fix or how expensive?

sorry about the noob ?'s
Its not that difficult or expensive but time consuming. I hardly ever do any work myself because i work all the time! I also did use the stock HG because i heard those are the best and no one makes one for our car.

i feel ya, i'm in school and working two p.t. jobs
my mechanic is wanting like $800, he'll clean out the head and valves but i thought it was a lot, he said that most tof the $ is from time and labor. i just wish i had the time to do it my self

Thats way too much money to change a head gasket. That sounds like a rip off to me. I guess im spoiled because my mechanic does my work cheap because ive been going to him for years plus i work for a honda dealership and i know all the mechanics so they do a lot of free work for me too!
