Advantages of an external wastegate?

I am looking into the Greddy Kit for my ZC (hearing that the Turbo is good for it), but I noticed that most cars use external wastegates (Tial for example).... so, what's up?

The advantage of an external wastegate is that it has the ability to flow more air through it. A common occurence with internal wastegates is boost surge and boost creep. these are caused by the internal wastgate being too small an outlet, causing boost to increase past what the wastegate is rated. This can cause serious damage if your car is not capable of handling the increased boost. The internal wastegate will be fine on the GReddy kit for your ZC if you are just planning to boost moderate levels. I Beleive that kit uses a td04-15g and is the wastegate is rated to .8 bar.

Keeps down boost creep, and flows more for bigger turbo's. I thought the greddy kit was a TDO5-18g but I could be wrong.

The TD05-18G is for the B-series kits

I'm still not sure about the internal wastegate construction.

So internal wastegates can't be replaced? They don't have flanges that are bolted on the turbo right? Or do they? What i'm trying to ask is, is it possible to change an internal to an external wastegate?

Yes, you should be able to remove the internal wastegate completely, and then simply install an external wastegate somewhere on your intercooler piping..........But you're going with a Greddy kit, so you'll need to put the wastegate somewhere between the turbo and throttle body.

That would be the bov that goes between the turbo and t/b.The wastegate is going to go before the turbo to control spool up.I guess you could put a wastegate after the turbo but i my mind it would produce less power because of excess heat. .Higher the boost the more heat.

With the wastegate before the turbo it will prevent the turbo from spooling any higher then the pre-set amount
