Alright, I have seen and heard so many things about air filters. I have a 3" inlet on my T3/T4 turbo. I am having a hard time trying to figure out which air filter will be the least restrictive and/or the best for the turbo. The AEM filter I have is only a 2.5" filter, so that won't work, plus it's old. I am looking for some other filters out there. I know HKS is a descent brand, but aren't their filters made of a poly-foam material that isn't supposed to be used for forced induced engines? Any ideas!! Thanks!!
any brand will work fine, you wont really notice a difference between the different name brands
if you are really worried about letting the turbo breath, just put a screen over the inlet and let the turbo breath all it wants
i'd prefer a filter, but I have had in the past some real shitty filters with a glued on screen at the end and that won't fly with me again. I just want something that will last and is a good brand for quality/performance. I am looking for something that I saw that was pretty cool in design as well but I can't remember what brand it was. Doing a Red/yellow color scheme throughout the car and was hoping to find a yellow filter if possible, I think HKS is the only one that makes them... but there was one company that had a great turbo filter specifically for turbos.
I will have to look into those, thanks for the suggestions. How much did they run you?? Both the blitz and the HKS? Also, do they come in the 3" sizes??
mine was just an hks style shroom filter that I got from pep boys or autozone...forgot...
Yeah it fits 3 inch piping...and I think it cost me 19.99 or something...
They sell very cheap on ebay.

been looking on ebay and all i am finding are generic --- "style" filters, I'd prefer to get a genuine brand name and not a knock off. I had some problems with cheap knock off filters on my last supercharged honda. :/
