Almost ready, cant wait!!!! :-)

As you might remember about 2 months ago i blew my engine and have been without a car since

well all of the parts i have ordered have now arrived so hopefully all will be done by next Friday. Run it all in then for 500miles and straight to the dyno to get it tuned.

What do you guys think of this:

B16A2 with:
Aries 9:1 pistons
Eagel Rods
310 Rc injectors
12:1 fmu
all the usual stuff that comes with the revhard stage two kit.

I am hoping to run between 12-14 psi. The only thing i have for tuning is the field V-AFC along with the 12:1 FMU do you think that this will be alright. I will want to run a little rich to be on the safe side.

Any suggestions on what to do, anything?

how much power do you think i can get? im hoping for about 280-300 whp ish.

Any advise is appreciated!!

Thanks guys

Steve

Sounds like you may be in for blowing another engine... Even with the lower compression pistons, I don't know that you can get away with 12-14psi safely/reliably without resleeving.

12psi@9:1 is about the same as 9psi@10.1 (regular compression), so I don't think that is going to put you at the goal of 280-300whp... I believe more in the ballpark of 225-240whp.

I'm still reading/learning, so take this with a grain of salt.

Also, this is a question, not a comment, do you need the 12:1 FMU if you have a V-AFC?

You will still need the fmu but with 310's you need to get a smaller disc. Say you are running 40 psi of fuel pressure and idle the you throw on a 12:1 disc at 12 psi that is 144+40 that is 184psi of fuel pressure you need to be less then 120 at the max. I would go with at least some 370's and like a 6:1 diac that combe with your V-AFC should be cool

You'll be sweet aslong as you do get it dyno'd ,the rods and pistons are strengthened so you won't blow your engine if it is not detonating! your only real weak point is the tuning hondata would be nice. Goodluck

yeah I probably would have re-sleeved (lookup golden eagle I believe they guarantee theirs for up to 40 or so psi of boost) and bigger injectors if you are going to go that high of boost....if you run the afc hack using 440 or 450 cc injectors (dsm) you can avoid from using the fmu

Hi Thanks for the replies,

Is golden eagel an American Company, cos i live in the UK and its hard to find decient places to do stuff like that over here.

I dont think i can get hondata cos i cant get someone to program it over here either, most people go for Superchips over here, i suppose that it will do the same, fully program the fuel curve!

Im not sure! I think so coz i have heard that the V-Afc is not very good in making the A/F mix rich, they are only good for Leaning out (Not sure tho)

Just a bit worryed about the strength of the cylinders now, what psi do you think they can handle upto without any strengthening (no resleaving or block gaurd), just tuned.

Thanks for the help guys!!!

Hi, Me Again!

Ok if i got a block gaurd how much would i be able to hold then, I REALLY dont want to blow the engine again

Also how do you install it. Is it just a case of taking the head off, tapping the gaurd into place and putting the head back on?

Thanks
