Is anyone familiar with the second generation (94-00) Eclipse GS-Ts? I have a 97 Civic hatch, and I’m in the works with a B18C1 swap, and had an offer for a Eclipse turbocharger, which is (I believe) the Mitsubishi TD05H. The guy is doing a full turbo upgrade and offered to sell me the unit for $100. Assuming the unit is in good shape, is the TD05H easy to incorporate into a custom setup? Is it worth trying to make fit onto my B18C? Any help anyone can give would be much appreciated.
the second gen DSM turbo is a t25 turbo. the turbo is ok and mitsu used it because of its ability to spool up faster then the first generation turbo (14b). but the t25 falls off after about 6k on the eclipse to its not really considered that great of a turbo if you can get your hands on a 1g (14b) turbo that would be better but 100 bucks isnt bad for a t25 i think it would be a fun project and it has potential..
t25 isn't a bad turbo.. it would be best for 1/4 mile.. 2 of the guys in my team have redtop sr20det which come with the t25 on them.. one laid down 230 rwhp and the other did 216 rwhp cuz he had a cat on.
Originally posted by therumbligteg dont get it, save some money and get a t3/t4 if you dont want to get a t3 or a 14b, i had a t25 just died at at 6k.
longevety of the turbo depends on the driver and how u treat it.. plus if u bought it used it could had shaft play and needed to be rebuilt. a turbo crapping out is usually the drivers fault.. if it was a crap turbo nissan wouldn't use it for their sr20's and mitsubishi would have never used it for their eclipse
ok im not sure what therumbligteg meant when he said his t25 died at 6k but i did not mean that it stops working i simply meant that the turbo does not push as much pressure as it should at that specific rpm...
but yeah.. in the dsm world.. the t25 is not desirable

ahhh yes that response makes much more sense.. which is true the turbo doesn't put out a whole lotta power when it comes to high end.. the turbo is probably best w/ a ls engine where it isn't as high revving.. this turbo would be better for a quarter mile.
Mods: turbo, and body kit, and a paint job no one has in this world

thats what i ment thanks
The T25 Turbo Spools Up ver Fast bu at 6KRMP it dies because it lacks the ability to Add positive Pressure, also on a smaller engine Like the b18 is it might stop lower than that.

Thank you all so much for the help. I've heard from most of the people I've talked to that if I'm goin to invest in a turbo at all, I should go bigger, and will have better, more reliable results. So now I'm thinking T3 or T3/04E hybrid...off for more research...
