Whats up, i got a 95 civic dx and a budy of mine has a kit that he had on his EX that he will sell me for a grand installed and tuned, im not to sure what it all consists of, i know it uses a t25 with a good size front mount and a 1g bov...but i guess my ? is has anyone boosted a DX and how were the power gains? im only planning on running 5psi for now till i can get another motor built so i would apreciate some input! thanx! peace out.
i have a 96 dx turbo, got about 198 hp from 106 stock

I boosted my dx (d15b7) back in the day. It was definatly worth the money i spent (about $800).
I put down 139whp (or about 160 flywheel hp) on about 5.5psi.
I wouldn't run to much on that motor the rods are about the sice of a nuber 2 pencil. seriously.
For $1,000 I'd go for it.

^yea, agreed...When I turboed mine I knew i wasnt going to be insanely fast or even fast at all, 198 really isnt fast but it is an improvement..
besides, i love hearing my BOV...LMFAO

BOV is up to you, you can make any one work.
Yes they make aftermarket rods for that motor, and yes they would help.. I feel the rods are the weak point in the d15 engine, upgrade those and the pistons and your well on your way to making some decent power

where do they sell rods for a d15b7 for a descent price. i was also told ill need a msd btm and a apexi afc. how does a btm actually work? i know it has something to do with timing and boost. also. cheapturbo has t3/4 turbos that somone said would be good for this setup. but there are different sizes or something. trim and compressor sizes? what is that? is that like the gearing?actually i should ask....if want a lot of boost and no lag or my 92 civic dx what turbo size would be good...is the bigger the number the bigger the turbo and the more lag?. i wantto run 12psi.
You should aim for a power goal, not a boost number. Do whatever you can to get that power goal with low boost and you'll be better off. Without aftermarket rods both will be limited on a D15.
An MSD Boost Timing Master reads how much boost you are making and it automatically backs off your ignition timing however much you set per psi.
Compressor sizeing usually refers to either physical size or flow since they go hand-in-hand. Bigger compressors typically have more lag and worse boost response. For a little 1.5 SOHC I would stick with a T3 or similar for all-around use.
