Why are you trying to make your car slower?

You can do more than that with the stock compression. It's too early (brain not fully functioning yet), to do the math...but you can make the same power that your 13psi with a terribly low compression motor, than you would with the stock compression, on say...11psi.

Yea you can drop it by putting on a thicker head gasket. I forgot who sells them but I think I saw some in the Summit Magazine...

i agree with MatT3T4.

why lower the compression and power if all you're going to do is add it back up? i would use stock compression. that way i would run less boost and my turbo doesn't have to wear out due to the RPM it has to spin to create the boost. besides..you get more bottom end power from the compression than if you lower it.

Don't do it, the stock compression is perfect!

Yup - don't do it for 13 PSI... the ends do not justify the means You'll have one slow ass B18B when you're not boosting, around town driving will be laggin

Do you understand how important compression really is? Leave it stock. Better yet, raise it.

Just leave it at the stock compression, you will kick yourself in the ass if you lower it. These guys know what they are talking about (for the most part), and so do I...trust us, you are here for tech information right? Well, you just got it...don't lower your B18B's compression...

10psi should be ok for the most part. just get upgrade the ignition/fuel system. you might want to get a blockguard. if st00pid can run 20psi on a B18B, so can you! (with his kind of tuning)! but really..the vortech SI runs 10psi and the B16 has a greater compression ratio than the B18B. all they had were common upgrades such as fuel pumps, FMU (which i don't like), ignition box upgrade, etc. if you can get the right stuff and tune it the right way, no doubt you can run 10psi easily.

u have to realize that once you lower the compression and raise the boost, most of the power you gain are the power that you lost during the compression lowering.

10 PSI on stock internals is pushing it... if all out hp is your goal without caring about reliability then do it. Even with lots of tuning you will have a greater chance of something going wrong at higher PSI. Can you do 10 PSI on stock internals? Yes... but the margin for error gets smaller and smaller the higher you raise the boost. Just something to think about. 5 PSI can blow a motor with bad tuning and so can 20 PSI, there just isn't a magic max PSI you can run safely. Sorry for the vague answer, but there isnt a general answer for your question. You'll want a standalone(AEM/Hondata probably), 440cc injectors, walbro 255lph pump, etc... to increase the safety

In all honesty, you can run 10psi on the stock internals, untuned, with nothing more than a high flow fuel pump, 370cc, cold plugs, and premium gas. It really isn't as harsh on that motor as people make it out to be...of course, driver abuse can kill it, but all in all, it's not that dangerous. But you didn't hear that from me...
