Unhappy ARP head studs true or false???

I heard that when you use the ARP head studs, you can only use then once.
So when you have to open up the engine again, you can't re-use them.
Is this true??????

I've heard this rumor as well. But I know of people that have re-used stock and ARP head studs.

your not supposed to use any of them over, they have a better chance of breaking if you do that.

arp studs stey in the block then the head slides down them and you put on a nut. the reason you can reuse them is , you dont torque the stud.yu only hand tighten it . you torgue the nut.
i use arp and have had my head off and about 10 times now. well worth the 80.00 bucks

you're not supposed to reuse ANY head stud or head bolt.

in the case you decide to reuse, especially with ARP's due to their extra strength, you need to use a micrometer and measure the length to check for bolt stretch.

properly torqued headbolts slightly stretch the bolt... ever so slightly. this stretch plus the added stress of each cylinder trying to blow the head off the block while running, can reduce the strength of the bolt by stretching it beyond specs.

the ARP's use studs with nuts to secore the head... which slightly reduces the stretch seen with a bolt setup, it still stretches under operating conditions and needs to be checked before reuseage.

common practice, no matter what design, is to replace your head studs/bolts with your headgasket.
