b16 turbo

I am buying a b16 obdII motor and i am going to turbo it. i already have the turbo setup just wanted some advise from someone that has built a b16 turbo. i have a t3/t4 turbonetics turbo with intercooler, hks bov, RC injectors, high flow fuel pump, something my friend said controlled the air fuel mixture it runs on vaccumm i think (made by vortech). I have a 98 gsr tranny that i am going to use. All of this is going into a 96 ex with some other goodies. Just wanted to know what you did to your motor as far as pistons or head gasket to lower the compression if you lowered it at all. Just want to know what modifacations that you have done and how they worked out. i plan to stick to 8 or 10 psi but my friends have all said that and turned it up until they blew something.

that vortech thing ur talkin about is an FMU i think, you should ditch that and get a hondata if money permits or an Apex'i SAFC and do a hack, thats good up to 10psi, anything after 10psi i'd go with hondata. Pistons anything from 8.5-9.8 will work, the lower u go the more boost u can throw at it but the less it makes off boost and the more boost you will need to make the power a higher compression makes. I wouldn't go below 9 though, but thats just personal preference. Not too sure about head gaskets. But 8-10 psi on a B16 tuned is VERY possible and is done a lot good luck

thanks for your input i think that you are right about the it being an FMU. Exactly what is a hondata? Do you send off your ECU to get programed or is it something outside the ECU? I still would like some more feedback from others that have built a turbo b16.
