boost b16 or b18b

hello i am saving up for a complete new build for my hatch (ek) motorwise and planing to go turbo and have it as a weekend car, my only problem is that i have a jdm b16 w/ a blow tranny, and i'm not sure which block to start w/ i was thinking about ls/vtec but over the past year iv'e seen better numbers & reliability on gsr turbos, ne1 got any input on this matter would be appreciated.. o btw my goals are: 600+whp somewhere between 24-30psi and high 9's low 10's on slicks at the track, i
ve already got over $7,000 saved for this project, the car is a 98 converted to 00 ek hatch full jdm.

I would go either LS/vtec or just straight B16 overbored and gsr or type R cams.

got kalua pig and lomi salmon to go with that poi??? WINNAHZ!

no matter how you look at it you need a sleeved block to get 600whp..... i'd go on ebay and look for something freshly built!!! you can get them built bullet proof to support 900+ hp for about 5grand+ bored, sleeves, pistons, rods, bolts, gaurd, etc..... brands of your choice 3grand+ for blocks that support 650hp+......... hope your project turns out alright.....wish i had the dough to go all out!

Would you put money on this statement? Id be willing to help you lose that money in a few minutes if so.

Yes I would go with the B16 over the B18B

no, i wouldn't, cause it is possible... i would sleeve my block just to be on the safe side, why take the risk of messing up your block after spending a shit load of money on it? from what i've been told, you might want to get your block sleeved it you are looking for reliability at anything over 400hp.... true?? not trying to argue with a guy that knows his stuff, cause i will lose, just trying to let him know my thoughts.......

I deff wouldnt do it. But they are popping up all over the place.
My tuner has tuned quite a few well over 500whp hondas on stock sleeves and even low 600's on stock sleeves

I wouldnt risk it personally, but I wanted to let you know it is very possible
