BOOSTED JDM B16a

OK, I can't find the search button. Is there even a search button? Anyway, I have $8000 to spend, so Im going to get a JDM b16a LSD motor and drop a turbo in. Get a new suspension along with some new bushings. Along with some HASPORT MOUNTS. Anyhow, Would the EDELBROCK kit be fine? Im looking at complete kits, so building my own wouldn't be an option. What else what I need to add on the kit? Fuel Pump..etc..etc? Im looking at any crazy horsepower numbers, just a LiL more torque with around 200 hp to the wheels. I'll be running stock internals, but I will change all the necessary GASKITS, timing belt,...etc...CLUTch, FLYWHEEL. Let me know what you think or any suggestions would be great.

U may want to look into the peakboost setup. They seem to be the best ready made kit on the market for that engine.

Get a greddy kit and call it a day. Come back when you want some more power.

Or save yourself some money and build your own kit and have about 300whp for the same amount of money.....it's up to you.....
OR..... like it was suggested before, get a peakboost kit.

Trust me you'll want more then 200whp and about 145ft lbs of tq at the wheels.

The b16a is called "the torque less wonder" for a reason.......You wonder where the tq is.
@ 250whp I dynod with 175ft lbs of tq
About 30-50ft lbs less then a b18 and about 30ft lbs less then a d16.....
They make shit for tq....
You'll want more then 200ft lbs of tq to have fun with that motor....it's going to take more then 200hp to reach that.

Yeah I get what you mean about the TORQUE!!!! Im looking at keeping my car CARB legal so I think the peekboost kit wouldn't be an option. I really don't want to yank off the kit everytime I go for emissions, that is if the car lasts that long. Were you runnig on stock internals when you dynoed at 250whp? How much can a stock motor handle? I know they can handle 7 psi. Also the greddy kit doesn't even include a BOV nor INTERCOOLER!!!

Well C.A.R.B limits your options if you want a legal kit.

I was running 9psi on stock internals, I've seen stock b-series handle well over 300whp.....tune for a desired power not a desired boost level.

the greddy kit w/ i/c and bov will be about the same as the edlbrock kit fyi, and the greddy kit comes w/ injectors and fuel manage (basic but will do untill you get something dif)

What limits are there to a C.A.R.B legal kit? I guess its not gonna be an issue anymore for me to get a legal kit. Anyway, How much HP were you running on 9 psi? My car will be a every other day daily driven, so I really want to keep it safe. I think I would be happy if I went BOOST!! Got tired of the N/A setup. You say you've seen stock B-series handle over 300whp? How long did that last!!! I hear thats the most they can handle on stock internals, but you're pushing the limits.?.?.?

THANKS FOR ALL YOUR INFO!!!

Well I luckly don't have to deal with c.a.r.b ,so I don't know the specifics. I believe only the greddy kit and possibly the edlebrock kits are carb exempt. I believe an intercooler and bov voild the c.a.r.b legal status....
9psi = 248whp.
Check out www.honda t e c h . c o m .....there is also a lot of good info there about boosting......(sho is great, but knowledge is power).

Thanks b16ahybrid, this is some good info!! Are you runnin on a homemade kit, or just a complete kit? Thanks for all the input. Also im a member on hpnda-tech.com also, I do occasionally check what they have. Alot of good stuff!!! If I did get the edelbrock, Im planning on runining it with a HOndata w/BOOST. Also, should I go with 3inch? Emissions isn't a factor for me anymore. THANKS!!!
