BOV on NA engine

Just wondering, I know to some of you it will sound gay/n00bish/ricer/blablabla, but in all seriousness would it be feasable to hook up a low pressure bov to a n/a engine so it would have the same effect, obviously not as loud as a turbo engine with a bov? Have a friend that is obsessed with his precious stock 98 civic and i'm telling him to just turbo the damn thing if he wants boost or that sound, but he's too damn cheap to do it. So thought I'd do him a favor (ok maybe not in the long run) but to ask about it on here. And if so how would be the way to do it connection wise and stuff so I can at least send him in the right (lol) direction so he doesn't go through a dozen bov trying to make it work. Basically he just wants the little sound, but doesn't want to do it the "cheap way" of using that stupid electric bov box.

all the stff for the wrong reason.

one doesnt buy a form of forced induction for the "sound" ....thats the worst reason to buy a performance modification.

and no a BOV would not work on a naturally aspirated motor, a BOV works because of the forced air that was about to go into the intake. when the throttle body is closed the vaccum force in the intake manifold becomes to great and actuates the bov and allows the force air out the BOV so it doesnt go back to the charger. the BOV is not a sound device tis a means of allowing the air out.

there is actually a product on ebay called turbo noize fx or something, which will give your friend what he desires. you put it in the muffler and when you give it gas,(just like a turbo) it spins a turbine type thing and when you let off it goes pshhh. i think it goes for like 50 bucks.

but then your friend may also want to think about buying a 5 inch muffler to accomodate this product(it may not fit in stock) unless you want it to be visible. i wouldnt.

seriously, this product is on ebay. just search for like d16 turbo or whatever. i know cause ive searched for turbo kits and that shit does pop up.

and while you could make a BOV for the na engine, i doubt enough air is getting through the intake to even blow off. its probably more expensive to fabricate such a thing than to buy the fake shit from ebay. IMO bad idea, but i hope this helped.

it'll be pretty hard to blow off excess air when the engine is in vacuum

i can blow off in vacuum.

but yeah it would never blow off....even though on a turbo car you can blow off without getting in boost, this is because the turbo is still pushing some air into the intake after you have let off just not enough to build up pressure. on an NA car as soon as the throttle is closed air is no longer moving from the suction of the engine.

that was my joke...n/a never has boost pressure so there is no excess pressure to blow off
