Build me a block (H23)

What's up guys?
O.K. my setup you can see in my sig.... and now time came to sell my winter car which is a lincold town car...so I'll be getting $3500 next week and I am buying a used H23 block from my friend who is getting an H22 swap......so I will have a chance to build my block and still drive the car boosted on my stock block ....
But I don't know that much about which brand parts should I pick..
The block is gonna be sent to Golden Eagle and they're gonna re-sleeve it with their HD sleeves....what other (machine/custom)work should i do to the block while it's at their place.....and what brand parts should i go when choosing rods, pistons..etc:' Should I stay with the stock bore or how much bigger should it be...
I want to be able to run up to 20psi...on the weekends and around 14psi daily and and shoot for around 350whp...
Now I'll get all the proper head work later but first I wanted to have the block ready.......

Before when I didn't have the turbo setup installed I blew my motor cause my oil cooler seal broke and all the oil leeked out before I even knew....so I got it fixed but the main bearings started knocking and after a year of driving it like that it got worse and the crank broke in half.....so i thought that the only way to spin or make a main bearing knock is if you run low on oil.....so now I have another h23 in my car now, the block is stock and I am boosting 7.25 psi......never low on oil checking every day.........and after 3 months of driving it like that I started hearing my crank is knocking again, and I know it's the main bearings and not something else cause the first engine sounded the same.....now I check oil everyday and all so how could the main bearings get messed up???? I thought 7psi was pretty safe on stock block and that the ringlands is the weak part not the main bearings. Now I can still drive my car for a while cause it will take time for the block before it blows....... so thats why I'm thinking ahead and trying to build the next block....I learned from mistakes....so this time I want to do it right....so please all the people with built engines help me build something that will not blow..lol

well, here you go. The H23 motor completely sux A buddy of mine has had about 3 of them and they're infamous for rod knocks for some reason..all of them have either locked up or blown up...I dunno. They supposedly don't even have the h23 in japan..

neway, just be sure when doing the bottom end to balance and blueprint everything very well, that will greatly increase the reliability and it will help in the power as well.

stock bore is 87. most machine shops say 89 is max bore. i wouldnt go over 88mm. reason being, if anything goes wrong on a 89mm bore you dont have room to play with. As for pistons you choice is either je pistons for about 600 with rings, or a custom piston. i got a custom set of cp pistons for less then shelf je pistons. for rods go with crower. you also wanna get your crank polished. get some acl bearings, arp headstuds. and that will pretty much take care of your bottom end. that should cost about...2150. that should leave you wit about 1300. with the remaining money you should get a better fuel management system (i.e. hondata, aem, etc.) dont for get resurface your flywheel, get a new clutch and some axels.

flip you're the man..... what boost would that bottom end be able to hold?
I know I need better fuel managemen...but first I want to get the block done and then I'll get the head redone....and then take care of all the fuel and ignition stuff......bottom end first....lol
And also what are those asl bearings...first time heard of them?

well properly tuned the sleeves can handle around 50-60lbs of boost. i've seen those rods and pistons last on 600+hp cars. so you should be good with those. ACL bearing is just a aftermarket bearing kit that goes for about 100 bucks and includes main, and rod bearings and thrust washers. i makes it easier because it's a one size thing insted of goin to honda and pickin colors. also these are readily available.

yeah but they thing about pickin the colors is to get everything within close tolerances...therefore making the motor more reliable and stronger..

if the crank journals are good and the crank is good the the acl's will be within those tolerances. i've never heard of anyone have problems with acl's

I'll look into that .....but i think maybe you have to machine them to get the tolernces really close because they blueprint the block so they make sure everything on the crank is straight and they polish the crank and balance everything...IMO so I'll probably get them
Thanks for help guys
