cold air turbo??

whats the purpose for a cold air intake for a turbo car, if the turbo is going to reheat the air during compression anyway.

I mean will the few degrees cooler from the intake make any difference downstream of the turbo??

this is always a big topic of debate... i would like to know the real results... some people take off their headlight at the track... it might help with the temperatures a little bit, but i'd like to know before and after results or something like that...

Colder air is always better. If the turbo adds 30 degrees (example) to the intake charge then 75 + 30 is less than 90 + 30. Anything you can do to keep the intake charge cool helps. Turbos are probably more sensitive to changes in the intake temp than NA motors, as the volume of air is increased so the effects of temperature are increased.
