Completely Honda Turbo Setup.

Well I found out there is a new turbo setup / turbine out by honda. I got to find the part number , but it would pretty sweet to see a honda engine powered with a new honda turbo. As soon as I find it Ill let you know what and where its at.

It suppose to help create 165hp on a small 4cyl. It should be pretty cheap as well. I wonder if its a good quality build....and if it can handle some tweaking.

Is it actually manufactured by Honda or is it just an allied signal turbo (garret) made to order for Honda to use in it's engine?

That looks like a SOHC engine. Is it?

My thoughts on why Honda doesn't have Turbo engines for automobiles.

Jap has a cap of 280 hp. NSX makes 270 hp NA, S2000 makes 240 N/A, RSX(Integra) Type R makes 220 N/A and it won't be long before they bump that number up I think. So why bother with turbo when you are already making NA engines hitting the HP cap? Just my .2 cents.

Wow 137hp per liter.....pretty good for a honda powerplant. Of course its turbo so I guess you cant compare it with the high liter/output of honda's type-r models. Still id like to just order that turbine. The plumbing looks pretty crazy...

its just a gentleman agreement between the 3 companies (Nissan, toyota, honda). its not an official law. heck, people who owns the skyline says that the engine puts out about 320 hp and when they do get their car dyno'ed, (with the power that lost to their drivetrain) it comes out to be ~320hp. the new supra and NSX are said to have about ~400hp. i think the only reason that they have that kind of thing is so that they wouldn't get out of hand when one company creates a 500hp monster and the next one comes out with 700hp, and etc. its kind of like something to prevent war. who knows..i don't understand them:

i dont think honda is limiting their engine choices just because of a japan market for sports cars.

not for nothing but 75% of most honda cars come from the states.

the main reason...at least i think...honda doesn't use turbos is it was never their style...esp in high end cars...

in the states it is unnecessary cause most people like n/a cars since they require lower maintenance and cost less.

although vtec makes up alot of complication and maintenance issues it self....so now its a tossup. lol

more importantly, they are known for reliability and getting great mileage. adding a turbo would just consume more gas and isn't much reliable anymore.
